How do you detect clear bottles reliably on a packaging conveyor?

When is an indexing conveyor better than a continuous conveyor?

An indexing conveyor is better when the product must stop at a defined position for a machine operation or controlled manual task. Continuous conveying is usually simpler when the process can run in motion. Compare the required datum, dwell, product stability, queue behaviour and machine signals before choosing the indexing route.

How can two packaging conveyor lanes be merged safely?

Control the timing and lateral path so only one product enters the shared downstream position at a time. The design must match product stability, minimum gap and downstream capacity, then prove starvation, blockage and restart states. See the lane merging and diverting guide.

When does an unstable bottle need a puck?

A puck is useful when the bottle cannot travel reliably on its own base or ordinary guides through several packaging operations. It provides a repeatable external footprint and can preserve orientation, but adds loading, unloading, return, cleaning and carrier-management requirements. Review the puck conveyor guide.

Should I use side grip or a puck for a narrow bottle?

Use side grip when temporary support between two side belts solves a local transfer or base-access problem and the bottle walls tolerate contact. Consider a puck when the bottle needs a carrier through several stations or must retain orientation. The actual bottle, contact restrictions and packaging sequence should decide the route.

Why does a checkweigher or inspection station need single-file products?

Single-file presentation helps the system associate one measurement or inspection result with one physical product and provides space for a controlled reject. If products arrive in several lanes or touching groups, use a merge or singulation section before the controlled measurement zone.

What should I send for a special-handling conveyor enquiry?

Send representative products, dimensions and weights, the required station or lane sequence, target good output, machine signals, contact restrictions, available layout and abnormal states. Include the least stable format and explain what must happen during starvation, blockage, fault and restart.
